Purpose of Assignment
The purpose of the project is to examine a community health problem for a specific aggregate. The project is to be able to apply the nursing process to a vulnerable population within your community. In addition, the purpose of this assignment is to utilize the Health Planning Model to improve aggregate health and to apply the nursing process to the larger aggregate within a systems framework.

Student Approach to Assignment
For this project, I partnered with the non-profit organization "Lift Up Ukraine," which was formed in response to the Russian military attack on independent Ukraine. Deep sorrow struck me as an immigrant married to a Ukrainian whose family still resides in the birth country. It was my calling! I could not stay distant, and I could not ignore a growing humanitarian crisis. I had experience assimilating that I could share; I wanted to assist families in need. I felt valuable helping Ukrainian refugees adapt to living in the United States. In addition, by sharing my project with my classmates and reaching out to community resources, I raised awareness about Ukrainian refugees and their needs.

Reason for Inclusion of this Assignment in the Portfolio
I included this assignment as my oral presentation because it showcased my ability to utilize the nursing process in addressing community health issues. I gained a greater insight into community needs and how to fulfill them. Moreover, I applied knowledge of therapeutic communication to relate and connect with refugees. I felt empowered to realize that my project was able to decrease the burden and stress of underserved families with kids.
