Educational Goals
Goals At The Beginning of The Nursing Program
Since graduating with an Associate degree, I have planned to further my education. Throughout the years, I’ve gained a reputation for being one of the best ICU nurses. The rapid growth of my nursing skills obscured my initial intentions and second-guessed the need to pursue a baccalaureate degree. Joining a Magnet hospital and being surrounded by nurses with greater education inspired and encouraged me to expand my comprehensive knowledge. A decade later, after a couple of turns in my career, I finally re-entered the pathway of pursuing my long-forgotten dream of a BSN degree. I wanted to advance my career and take a unit charge nurse position. Furthermore, I was thinking of becoming a nurse practitioner or nurse educator.

Goals At The End of The Nursing Program

Looking back helped me realize how far I have come. I am very proud of my professional success and academic
achievements. Gaining knowledge in conducting research allowed me to propose and implement an evidence-based
project within my hospital and advance my clinical ladder. My extensive practical experience will help me become an
exceptional leader within the department and the facility.
I look forward to attaining a charge nurse position right after graduation. I am still contemplating pursuing a nurse practitioner or nurse educator career; however, now I also consider leadership. I am reviewing various graduate schools and interviewing professionals about my future career interests. I am confident that my academic achievements will prepare me for professional success and effective leadership despite my chosen pathway.
